Disorientation For The Win

It’s been a rough couple of weeks.

We’ve had constructions guys in to finish the ground floor. Initially it was to keep Jim from the stairs and also to prep the house to get it ready to sell. It’s been a long painful process, made worse by the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of Covid 19. It’s impacted scheduling . There seems to be one delay after another. My electrician got sick, then some of the contractors crew and then delays getting parts that would normally be easily available.

I’m frustrated and the uncertain schedule is making Jim anxious.

But, his focus on the construction has helped me pack without him noticing. He stands at the window watching the guys move between their trucks and our house while I sneak our non-essentials into boxes or take them into the garage for a massive donation pickup.

An added benefit is that Jim is on his feet and walking around instead of napping on the couch. It’s helping his circulation and I’ve been ecstatic to see healing in the open wound on his foot that we thought would never get better.

I’m taking my silver linings where I can find them.
